Matt Hollowell (Undergrad—1995-1999 (BA-English) Grad—2002-2004 (MA-English) Kaleidoscope and a couple of UAB Student Calendars. After UAB, Matt worked for three years as a news page designer at The Birmingham News. He is currently working as a full-time coordinating editor at Lexis-Nexis Legal Publishing in Charlottesville, Va. “My duties include proofreading/editing legal handbooks, designing covers for books, designing cross ads and certain other marketing pieces, and designing custom books for police departments, sheriff’s offices, etc. At night, I teach a Developmental Writing course at the local community college here. In my free time, which does occasionally show up, I work on various freelancing jobs, either doing book design, CD-cover design, or the occasional poster for local bands,” he wrote. In the future he and his wife (UAB grad– in medicine) will be moving back down south in the middle of next year, once she finishes her medical residency. “Birmingham is definitely on our list, so I look forward to using this Web site to keep in touch/contact with various UAB Media Alumni. In the meantime, if anyone is heading towards Virginia or has any interests that I may be able to assist with, feel free to contact me at ttosbt24@gmail.com.”

We will jointly host the SEJC 20th Anniversary celebration and conference Jan. 27-28, 2007 in Birmingham.
