| I received my Ph.D. in biological anthropology from the University of Pittsburgh in 2004 and spent the following year as a postdoc at Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, where I studied the effects of exposure to gonadal steroids on performance on cognitive tasks. For my dissertation I used longitudinal social and economic data to investigate human dispersal timing from a behavioral ecological and life history perspective. Since returning to the States, I have been living and working in Birmingham, AL. My current hat is that of a Research Associate in the Addictive Behavior and Health Studies group in the Department of Health Behavior at the School of Public Health, University of Alabama at Birmingham. Our group investigates risk behavior and recovery in substance abusers and HIV+ populations. Additonal recent experience includes college-level instruction in psychology, as well as fMRI research in cognitive neuropsychology, including work on autism and theory-of-mind. For more information, please see my CV or send me an email. |
