Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence) is the methodology of finding out the truth from the Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet (SM). The scholars of Islam, called the Faqih, uses this methodology also to derive new meanings from a more general verdict in order to make the rellgion of Islam ever perpetuating. It should be kept in mind that fatwas/verdicts of the Islamic scholars are not to be held infalliable; they are humans and are prone to make mistakes, even when they have given their utmost to find out the truth.
