Data Collection Unit
(DCU)
The heart of the system is a Data Collection Unit (DCU). The DCU constantly monitors and records the
vehicle's position, speed and distance traveled anywhere in the world, using
GPS.
Control and Command Center
(CCC)
The control and command center consists of a small base station above ground
and PC. The CCC receives the
information from the DCU and permits the user to perform a variety of
functions, such as tracking vehicles in real time and viewing historical driving
information, to planning work schedules and routes.
Captured
Data Retrieval
Local Download
Invented
and patented by Minorplanet - is completely cost free and requires no
intervention from the driver or system user. Data is downloaded automatically by FM radio when the vehicle
returns to base.
Remote
Download
Data can also be retrieved when the vehicle is away from base. The system uses the GSM cellular telephone
network to access the stored data.
